Structure and functioning

To leverage existing knowledge and experience, the National Productivity Board relies on three existing national bodies to carry out its missions: the Ministry of the Economy, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC), and the Economic and Social Council (CES). The National Productivity Board is established under the minister responsible for the Economy and is composed of a president, two vice-presidents, and at least two other members, all appointed by the competent minister.

To fulfill its missions, the National Productivity Board receives support from the Ministry of the Economy, which has the necessary expertise in this area. The Council’s secretariat is also provided by staff assigned to the Ministry of the Economy.

STATEC participates through its research department, STATEC Research, which makes its work and statistical information available to the National Productivity Board, ensuring appropriate access to data and relevant analysis in the field of productivity.

The involvement of social partners takes place at the level of the CES, which is consulted annually by the government to provide an opinion on the reports of the National Productivity Board. This arrangement helps to fuel the national debate on productivity and promotes greater ownership by stakeholders.
